Future Perfect Tense

Future Perfect Tense:  Future Perfect Tense is used for actions that will be completed by a certain time in future.

Structure of Sentence : Subject + Will/Shall/Would + HAVE + V3 ( third form of main verb – past participle )  + Object

Examples:

  • I will have completed my graduation by then.
  • She will have left for office by 9 o clock.
  • In these two sentences, actions of completing and leaving will be completed by a certain time in future.

    The Future Perfect Tense

    (A) This tense is used when out of two actions it is necessary to emphasize that the preceding action will be completely finished before the succeeding action starts in future.

    Sometimes preceding action is implied and indicated by the use of 'Ever, just, already, yet, so far, till (time), before, (by), by the time after.' For example

  • She will have already prepared food when I reach home.
  • He will have rung up his wife before he arrives.
  • I think the news will not have been published so far.
  • My assistant will have typed five letters by lunch today.
  • (B)  This tense is also used to express time expression. Since, for, how, long, whole, all, throughout, all long' denotr that action started sometime in the past and is continuing into the present. For example

  • He will have known her for two years next month.
  • He will have suffered a lot by now since his birth.
